The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) presented the traditional reconciliation of ๐˜”๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ข ๐˜ฏ๐˜ช ๐˜จ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ข๐˜ถ to the ๐˜›๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ข ๐˜‰๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฏ๐˜ข ๐˜›๐˜ถ๐˜ช ๐˜’๐˜ข๐˜ฃ๐˜ข ๐˜ฏ๐˜ข ๐˜๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ท๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ถ, Ratu Epenisa Cakobau on February 19.

RFMF said this was related to the breach of ๐˜ช๐˜›๐˜ข๐˜ถ๐˜ฌ๐˜ฆ๐˜ช protocols and acts displayed by soldiers on the arrest of the Turaga na Vunivalu in 2018, on Bau Island.

Military and police officers had arrested Ratu Epenisa and stopped his installation as the new Vunivalu of Bau.

RFMF Commander Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai led the army delegation.

Ratu Epenisa Cakobauโ€™s wife, the ๐˜”๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ข ๐˜ฏ๐˜ข ๐˜™๐˜ข๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ช ๐˜“๐˜ฆ๐˜ท๐˜ถ๐˜ฌ๐˜ข, and their eldest son, Ratu Popi Seniloli Cakobau, together with the younger Cakobau siblings received the army delegation.

โ€œThe atmosphere was charged with emotion as the RFMF delegation expressed their deep remorse for the events that transpired,โ€ said the RFMF in a statement.

โ€œThe meeting was significant as both sides acknowledged the past grievances and expressed a desire to move forward in unity.โ€
