THE Motibhai Group of Companies was among 36 companies in the Western Division recognised as Fiji’s “Gold Card” corporate taxpayers by the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) at a special ceremony on Friday last week.
At the Renewal of Gold Card and Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) membership event hosted in Nadi by FRCS, the Motibhai Group was awarded with a Gold Card renewal while its subsidiaries Victus Pte Ltd (trading as Burger King) received an AEO membership renewal award while Motibhai and Company Ltd became a new AEO member.
Motibhai Group chairman Kirit Patel attributed the success to company staff.
“These milestones are testament to the unwavering dedication and collective efforts of our team and management,” Mr Patel said.
“The Gold Card and AEO Program provide priority services across multiple government agencies, recognising businesses that fulfill their civic duties — ensuring tax contributions support public services, infrastructure, education, and economic growth.”
He said the programs were more than just accolades.
“They reflect our commitment to excellence, compliance and national development as our commitment goes beyond business operations — we actively contribute to the well-being of the communities we serve and society at large.
“These achievements set a strong foundation as we step into 2025 with confidence and pride,” Mr Patel said.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the 36 companies including their subsidiaries presented with the Gold Card and AEO renewal membership certificates have a consistent history of “excellent tax and customs compliance”.
“The Gold Card members contribute 57 percent of FRCS revenue, with collection rising from $882million in 2021 to $1.67billion in 2024,” the ministry stated.
A similar event was held in Suva last Wednesday evening where FRCS presented 58 companies including their subsidiaries with the Gold Card and AEO renewal membership certificates.
