Rabuka assures support for Fiji’s Embassy in USA

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka believes Fiji’s Embassy in America needs to be strengthened, citing its important role in promoting Fiji’s foreign policy, among many other roles.
In visiting the office at Washington D.C, Mr Rabuka reiterated the need to reinforce Fiji’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with the United States of America.
He said such reinforcement was imperative to further enhance its global presence and maintain an active voice in international forums.
Among these, Mr Rabuka said the office played a vital role in promoting our nation’s foreign policy, trade relations, consular services and regional cooperation, among other important initiatives.

In meeting with the staff, he assured them of Government’s ongoing support for its diplomatic staff, ensuring they have the resources and assistance needed to carry out their roles well.
He expressed his gratitude for their dedication and service in effectively representing Fiji in the “Land of the Free”.
The staff include Ambassador Ilisoni Vuidreketi, first secretary Eva Baleitilagica, second secretary Edwin Pratap, consular officer Aporosa Babakobau and executive officer Asena Tunisau.
