Filipe Batiwale is the new Commissioner for Online Safety Commission.

He is a senior lawyer with a current practicing certificate in Australia, and specializes in commercial law, cyber law, and digital asset protection.

“I am deeply honoured to be appointed as Fiji’s Online Safety Commissioner,” he said.

“I look forward to serving the people of Fiji and addressing the challenges we face in the online space.”

“The growing prevalence of online harm underscores the importance of the Commission’s work, and there is much to be done to create safer digital environments.”

“My focus will be on ensuring the Commission effectively fulfills its functions under the Online Safety Act, working collaboratively with stakeholders to promote accountability, education, and responsible online interactions.”

Anne Dunn Baleilevuka was appointed as the Commissioner in December 2018 but resigned from the post, with Tajeshwari Devi, holding the the Commission in-charge portfolio since then.
