Mikaele Ravalaca aims for a fifth-round knockout of Mohammed Ali when they meet in the Bluewater Boxing Promotion on February 22.
Ravalaca is slated to go toe-to-toe against Ali in a 10-round main bout for the lightweight title of Fiji.
Known as the ‘High Voltage’, Ravalaca is standing by his word of a knockout win to not only claim his first title but to also prove his critics wrong.
Ravalaca who has fought six professional bouts to his name has five wins and a loss.
Of the five wins, four came by way of knockout with the recent against Alec Kumar in Australia last month.
Mohammed Ali is the man that stands in his way of getting the title.
The Ra lad did not mince his words when he said that Ali will not past the fifth of their 10-round bout.
“For me, he will not go past the fifth round,” Ravalaca said.
Training at Winston Hill’s gym in Toorak, Suva, Ravalaca is all locked in as he strives to not only win the title but to also prove people wrong.
“A lot of people are talking saying that I’ve always faced easy opponents, and that Mohammed Ali can knock me out, but I’d like them to come on the fight night and watch us.
“I’ll show them the difference between fighting against me and Ali fighting other opponents. He has fought several opponents, and he managed to finish the fight until the last round, that is something we won’t take away from him, but I’d like people to come and witness the difference when he shares the ring with me,” he added.
Ravalaca who is ranked 288 in the world’s super featherweight division according to Boxrec, has warned Ali to come to the fight mentally and physically ready.
“As we know Ali is a verbal guy, he likes to run his mouth, and no one is yet to show him why he shouldn’t be running his mouth so much before a fight. One wrong move against me and he will see why it is better to remain quiet.
“I want him to train well, be at his 101 percent in fitness because I want him to go past the fifth round. He likes to talk but doesn’t show it in the ring,” Ravalaca said.
Ravalaca will face Ali for the lightweight title in the main bout of the February 22 event at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
