RONEEL Prakash successfully defended his title in the professional division of the Vuksich & Borich Sponsored Fiji PGA Championship at the Denarau Golf Club yesterday.

With a total gross score of 141, Prakash walked away with the $1800 prize money. Tomasi Tuivuna closely followed in second place, recording a gross score of 142 and earning $1400.

Speaking after his win, Prakash expressed his satisfaction with the result, describing it as his best finish yet.

“I have finished second in the past years, which was disappointing, and this was my best finish. I was being consistent. I finished third in Natadola, and this win just shows I’m consistent when I’m on the green,” he said.

Prakash attributed his success to staying calm and focused.

“Just staying calm. People are bound to make mistakes. My recovery has been really good, and I’ve been trying to focus on the mental side of the game.”
