The Ba Football Club will now be led by head coach Ronil Kumar for this year’s football season.
His appointment was made known earlier this week by the Fiji Football Association through a statement on their website.
Kumar had recently completed the OFC B-Licence Coaching Course prior to his appointment as coach.
Fiji FA Media spoke to Kumar following his appointment and he was excited about his return to the club.
“The club has always been a big part of my life and I’m looking forward to build on the successes we’ve achieved over the years,” Kumar said.
Kumar’s involvement with Ba runs deep which stemmed from his stint with the club as a player from 2002 to 2018.
Making the move from on-field to off-field was an easy one as he coached the Men in Black to a myriad of titles ranging from winning both the Champion vs Champion and the Battle of the Giants titles in 2018 and the National League title a year later.
Becoming the club’s coach and now at the forefront of carving a path in pursuit of success this year, Kumar is keen on ensuring the club will do its best.
“My goal is to continue to bring out the best in the team and push us to new heights in 2025,” Kumar said.
Doing this means having to work in tandem with players, which Kumar also acknowledged.
“I’m looking forward to working with the players to build on the successes we’ve achieved over the years,” Kumar told Fiji FA Media.
Meanwhile, he thanked Ba football executives for their confidence in him taking up the new role.
