The Ministry of Education is seeking views from the public on whether the no repeat policy should stay or go.
A survey questionnaire has been posted on the Ministry’s website for members of the public.
Questions in the survey include:
1- How familiar are you with the policy of no automatic progression in schools.
2- Do you believe that no automatic progression is important for meeting educational standards?
3- In your opinion, what are the main benefits/advantages of having no automatic progression?
4- What are the potential drawbacks/disadvantages of no automatic progression?
5- What types of support should schools offer to students who may not automatically progress?
6 – What alternatives to no automatic progression do you think could be effective in promoting student learning?
The Ministry of Education said the review of the no repeat policy is aimed towards improving education standards and supporting student success across Fiji.
