Excitement is building among Fijians in Australia as they prepare to support the Fiji Airways men’s 7s team at the next HSBC SVNS in Perth from January 26-28.

The tournament marks the third event of the series, and fans are eager to see Fiji continue its strong performance.

Former Fiji 7s selector, coach, and player Sailosi Naiteqe, who is based in Australia, expressed his gratitude and encouragement for the team.

“I want to thank coach Osea Kolinisau and the boys for having a good start this season,” Naiteqe said.

“I also thank the families of the players for their support and care, which has been vital to the team’s success.”

Currently leading the standings with 36 points, the Fiji men’s team holds a narrow lead over Spain, which sits in second place with 32 points, and France in third with 30 points. Fiji’s strong start has raised hopes of maintaining its top position as the series progresses.

Naiteqe also acknowledged the support of the Fijian communities in Australia.

“All Fijians here are ready to cheer on our boys and show our full support to the players and coaching staff,” he added.

As the new year approaches, Naiteqe extended his best wishes to the provincial and national teams.

“I wish all the provincial teams and national teams a Happy New Year,” he said.

With the Perth 7s fast approaching, the national 7s team will be looking to build on its momentum and deliver performances that inspire the loyal Fijian fans, both in Australia and back home.
