Fiji Airways has acquired its newest ATR72-600 series plane.

The plane has been photographed in Toulouse in France.

Airplane Xperts, a company based in France facilitated the handover of the plane to Fiji Airways.

“Vinaka Vakalevu to our friends at Fiji Airways for the successful delivery of an ATR 72-600, MSN 1707, on Christmas Eve here in Toulouse,” stated Airplane Xperts on their LinkedIn page.

“The aircraft is now on its long way to its new home and should arrive next week. Thank you to the ATR team for their support during production, and for managing to get this aircraft delivered before Christmas.”

In August 2024, Fiji Airways signed a lease contract for three incremental ATR72-600s from Nordic Aviation Capital.

Fiji Airways currently operates two ATR72-600s through its domestic subsidiary, Fiji Link.

The turboprops are flown domestically, as well as to Port Vila in Vanuatu, Funafuti in Tuvalu, and Tongatapu and Vava’u in Tonga.
