Heavy rain will continue today as a warning for heavy rain remains in force for parts of the country, states the Fiji Meteorological Service.
Areas under the warning are Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki, interior of Ra, Tailevu North, Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Kadavu, Lomaiviti and Southern Lau group.
An active trough of low pressure lies slow moving over the group. Associated clouds and rain continues to affect the country.
The weather office states localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low-lying areas.
There will be flooding of roads, settlements, properties and other infrastructure near streams and river banks.
The weather office adds displacement of communities near streams and river banks due to flooding and landslides may also occur.
There is a possibility of major disruptions to essential services, traffic flow and power supply.
