THE USA All Stars is the first team to secure a semi-final spot in the Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup after a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Extra Supermarket Rewa FC in their final Group B match at Churchill Park, Lautoka, yesterday.

The decisive moment of the match came in the first half when Donevan Lescott unleashed a stunning 40-meter strike, giving the USA All Stars the lead.

Earlier, Rewa had a golden opportunity to take the lead, but Tevita Warainivalu missed a crucial penalty in the 17th minute, a moment the team would come to regret.

USA All Stars head coach Imone Mohanta expressed pride in his team’s performance and confidently stated their goal for the tournament.

“We are here to win this tournament and take home the cup,” Mohanta said.

“It was a slow start in our first game because we were jet-lagged and slow in our formation, but we came back stronger in the second and third games, improving each time.”

With their sights set on the title, the USA All Stars look like strong contenders heading into the semi-finals.
