Defending his Asia Pacific IBO championship title, Winston Hill acknowledges the formidable nature of every opponent he faces as he prepares to square off against Australian fighter Lachlan O’Shea at the South Pacific Boxing Promotion.
He says he looks at his upcoming fight against O’Shea as one of those bad dreams that he can’t run away from and can’t fight back.
“Every fight that I prepare for, I feel like the man that will be standing in front of me is the most dangerous man that I’ve ever faced,” said Hill.
“I look at this fight as like, you know, one of those bad dreams where you can’t run away, you can’t fight back.”
Hill remains resolute in maintaining his strategic approach, steadfast in targeting his opponent’s weaknesses.
“This is it. So, you know, in my head, this guy is out to get me, and I’m fully preparing well, and, you know, it’s like, he’s like the Boogeyman.
Reflecting on past encounters with formidable opponents like Jese Ravudi, Hill recognizes the growth and resilience gained from such challenges.
“The first time I faced Jese, same scenario. I imagined that he was this bad guy that was going to knock me out.
“Got through the training, got through the fight, fought him again, and certainly I knew that he would come back a stronger fighter, with all the experience that he has.”
As the current Asia Pacific champion, he carries the weight of expectations, with unwavering determination and readiness for the fight, Hill embraces any challenge that may come his way.
