Nasinu football player Savenaca Nakalevu is facing an automatic suspension for his indiscipline conduct during Sunday’s Digicel Fiji Premier League clash against Ba.

Nakalevu was red carded minutes before halftime for throwing punches at Ba player Kalaveti Sivoi soiling Nasinu’s 1-0 win over the Men in Black.

Fiji Football Association chief executive Mohammed Yusuf said they will act according to the report of the referee that officiated that match.

“The referees report so he will be automatically suspended in the COMET report. So, whatever the referee has written whether its violent conduct, there will be suspensions and fines,” he said.

Whatever the referee has written in his report will reflect Nakalevu’s suspension period.

“Our system is at the completion of the match, the referee puts his details in the COMET system online, it comes into our database and the system will flag out the punishment, the fines for the player and how many matches he must miss.

“The suspension will depend on the conduct so if its violent conduct, its two to three matches so it depends on what the referee has written,” Yusuf explained.

When queried if a report will be lodged, Ba football president Azam Ali said, “No we have not (lodged a report). We leave it to Fiji FA to decide. The referee’s report is there.”

Yusuf added they will act within the guidelines of their systems.

“If a separate incident report is lodged then he will be charged and face the disciplinary committee,” Yusuf added.

Meanwhile, there will be no national league matches played this week as teams have been given time to prepare for the Battle of the Giants tournament which begin next week.

With six rounds of the competition remaining, Rewa and Labasa look like the top bets to take out the title this year as both are tied at the top of the points table with 27 points each.
