Miscommunication at the Vodafone sponsored Southern Zone Deans Secondary Schools Rugby Union competition sparked confusion amongst media personnel at the semi-finals yesterday.

A Fiji Times team was initially denied entry into Buckhurst Park after the officials at the seaside gate told them, “No media allowed” into the grounds to take pictures and cover the semifinals.

The media was free to cover the competition from round one through to the quarter-finals.

Zone president Rusiate Wadali later clarified that the media were allowed to cover the games.

The same reporters were then allowed entry, more than an hour after being stopped.

Representatives from other media organisations also faced a similar situation, but were eventually let in under the directive of Wadali.
