VT1s artist Peni Roqara, also known as Ju Ben, will be headlining the Pacific’s biggest music competition at the Pacific Break Live From Fiji: Launch 2024 next Saturday at Wailoaloa Beach Club in Nadi.
Roqara won last year’s Pacific Break competition, a first for Fiji.
The competition will be televised by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC), and he will be joined by Papua New Guinean, Danielle, the 2022 Pacific Break winner, and Sprigga Mek who won in 2019.
“I’m excited at the moment and I can’t wait to perform alongside other artists from the Pacific and put on a good show,” he said.
“Last year I entered the competition with a song called ‘Sema Mai’ which is of a reggae-hip-hop genre.
“This year the launch is going to be a vibe at the beach club and it’s going to be fully packed as well.”
VT1s managing director Tikiko Korocowiri said the team was equally excited as it would be televised in over 38 countries.
“Last year, he (Ju Ben) had beaten 600 artistes to win the 2023 Pacific Break competition,” Mr Korocowiri said.
“Tickets are $15 only to allow people to come in affordably, and the ticket sales go to Frank Hilton.
“Tickets are available at ticketmax.com.fj so get your tickets now because we have a lineup of artistes which includes Pacific break finalists Bibao and Lonna from the Solomon Islands, Ratu and Oni, and of course, Ju Ben, Sprigga Mek and Danielle.”
