The US Independence Day event at the US Embassy in Suva recently saw a large turnout from across Fiji’s public, private and civic society.
Prominent figures who turned up to celebrate this year’s celebration included acting Chief Justice Salesi Temo, who is also acting President, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka, Minister for Rural and Maritime Development Sakiasi Ditoka, members of Cabinet, representatives civil society organisations, heads of foreign missions, and business leaders.
The event was hosted by US Ambassador Marie Damour to celebrate the 248th Anniversary of US independence from Brtitain.
