“Despite the loss, I am still proud of my boys.”
These are the words of Oceania Fiberglass Navua head coach Saiyad Ali after his side went down fighting 1-0 to Flick Hygiene Lautoka in the final of the 2024 Digicel Fiji FACT competition.
“To be honest, I believe that my boys were the more deserving team, but hats off to Lautoka for the win,” he said.
Navua had a few promising opportunities to score but were unable to capitalise on them, resulting in their loss yesterday.
“That’s one of the main thing when playing in the finals of any tournament.
“When presented with an opportunity we have to be able to take and make use of it because this is a do-or-die situation.”
Ali vowed that Navua will be coming back stronger in the next Fiji Football Association tournament, adding that this was just a glimpse of what this team can achieve.
“But for the time being, we will go back and rest for a few days before we beginning preparations again for the next tournament.”
