Hetal’s Transfers and Tours managing director Paras Ram says attending a tourism expo is costly.

Mr Ram said he had to pay more than $1000 to attend the four-day Tourism Super Week 2024 at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa in Nadi.

“And this is where we small businesses find it difficult to run a business, ” Mr Ram said.

“Tourism Fiji is doing a good initiative but what we face is the cost.

“Big tourism operators, of course, they can afford it.

“We are just slowly making progress.

“I started my business in 2016 and my business was by word of mouth. We do not have a marketing team.”

Mr Ram said he would not attend the Fijian Tourism Exchange because of the cost.

“This is where we can’t get to the travel agents coming from overseas.

“They do not know that there are small tourism operators who also do transfers and tours in Fiji.”
