After winning gold in basketball for Fiji at the 2023 Pacific Games, John Francis Timothy Yee Chief reached yet another milestone yesterday after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the Fiji National University.
Chief said this is one of his achievements that he is most proud of as there was more to just basketball.
“Winning gold for the country was great but this is a milestone and a very proud moment for me and my family,” he said.
Apart from basketball, he has plans to continue pursuing his education in agriculture and achieve higher recognition.
“Basketball will always be there, but I now have something that I can rely on in terms of my career and my future and hopefully do my masters.”
Chief was grateful to the support of his family and especially his parents for always going the extra mile to support his dreams.
“This is a surreal moment, and I am grateful to my family, friends and God.”
He now has his sights set on representing the country more in basketball and continuing his legacy as a basketball player.
“We have the Asia cup coming up so that is something I am looking forward to, attending the trials and trying to make the team.”
