EXXONMOBIL subsidiary Mobil Oil (Fiji) has reopened its redeveloped station at Walu Bay in Suva with an investment of more than $1million.

The Walu Bay service station is one of the company’s largest and second synergy sites in the country.

Redevelopment work included a change of canopy, a bigger forecourt, refurbished convenience store, and some pump and underground works.

The station now has four islands with double-sided pumps. Mobil Oil (Fiji) country sales manager Jatin Kumar told The Fiji Times the upgrade of the Walu Bay outlet is part of the company’s asset upgrade program.

“It is a very classy looking site, and this is the standard you would see if you go to Mobil sites overseas.

And what we are doing is, we are trying to bring those standards to Fiji, lift the standard here,” Mr Kumar said.

He said Walu Bay station was the second site to be given a facelift.

“We have got plans to upgrade the other sites as well to the same standard.”

He said the delay in the project, partly because of the weather, incurred a ‘good percentage’ of lost sales.

The company also held the draw for its ‘Drive into 2024’ promotion.

The winner, Mohammed Adnaan who fuelled his vehicle at the Samabula station, took home a brand new Nissan Navara Pro-4X valued at $$110,000 as the winning prize.
