Seventy aviation engineering DFAT scholarships are available for the next four years, says FNU Pro-Vice Chancellor Jimaima Lako.
At the Aviation Industry Engagement Committee in Nadi last week, Ms Lako commended the Fiji-Australia Vuvale Partnership for assisting FNU to be the centre of aviation training in the region.
“Our two prime ministers Sitiveni Rabuka and Anthony Albanese’s vision has become a reality, making this program review possible through an independent Australian consultancy firm Avi Pro,” she said.
“This is indeed a milestone for FNU, enabling FNU to be the centre of aviation training in the South Pacific.
“With the 70 new aviation engineering DFAT scholarships for the next four years (2024-2028), selected from five regional Pacific Island countries for these aviation and mechanical trades, is testament of support from Australia through the Fiji-Australia Vuvale Partnership.
“This is the first step in the program review process that will provide the avenue of exchange and support the curriculum change process which will assist FNU to thoroughly plan for the upcoming change in the curriculum design, resource development facility, technology and instructor development as the core of this project review.”
Ms Lako said the FNU Aviation Industry Aviation Committee members played a pivotal role in improving the aviation programs.
