National Fire Authority staff members have been disciplined for posting negative comments on social media.
Authority CEO Puamau Sowane said the posting of negative comments on social media was against NFA policies.
“You are the beacon of hope for the people,” he said.
“Therefore, you should not be seen to be commenting negatively on social media.”
Mr Sowane urged the firefighters to always uphold the policy.
“You are here for the people, not here to degrade people.”
Additionally, he said, the staff members were not to be on social media during working hours.
“A staff member of Labasa has been disciplined for being on social media during working hours. This is a breach and is against our policy.”
