One of Suva’s biggest conference facilities is now open again to the public.

The Novotel Lami Bay Entertainment Centre was reopened last week in the presence of guests and folks from nearby communities.

“The entertainment centre had been closed for the last few years due to COVID and we just recently refurbished it as part of our rebuild and refurbishment of Novotel Suva Lami Bay,” Novotel Lami Bay general manager Mareille Jerosch-Hoehn told The Fiji Times.

“We’re bringing back the Entertainment Centre to the wider public of Suva to enjoy for any memorable events, for weddings and family gatherings, corporate events and being such as iconic venue in Suva, I think it’s quite a landmark.”

Ms Jerosch-Hoehn said the centre could hold up to 500 guests so it’s one of the largest event centres in Suva.

“So many people hold cherished memory, traditions celebrating weddings here through generations, so we’re quite proud to bring it back and make it available for people to continue those traditions.

“We have one more room to refurbish, another venue that can hold up to 300 people, which is part of the (adjacent) conference centre and we’re looking forward that by the middle of the year, we should have all of the venues and facilities opened to the public again after its extensive refurbishments.”

Novotel Lami Bay is conveniently located for Suva’s bigger functions that need appropriately sized facilities.

“From the feedback we’ve been getting, people struggling to find venues, especially here in Suva with a lot of people having to move to the West and the Coral Coast and we’re glad that the convenience is here to have another big venue.”
