Move out of the shadows of your leaders and carve a new approach to politics.

This was the comment directed to FijiFirst acting general secretary Faiyaz Koya by Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad.

Prof Prasad said FijiFirst must embrace a new approach to politics in the interest of the country.

“It is time for FijiFirst to become constructive and meaningful,” he said.

In a statement, Mr Koya criticised the Coalition Government for policies that have seen “the rich get richer and the poor struggling to survive”.

He said the lack of serious confidence in the economy had left Fiji in a much-debilitated state and the Coalition Government had not created an environment that was investor friendly and one that looked after all the people of Fiji in a genuine and compassionate manner.

That’s the big news on the front page of The Sunday Times for February 4.
