The State has re-charged two men whose trial was discontinued by the High Court in Lautoka four years ago when the main exhibits in their case, two kilograms of cocaine, went missing from the Namaka Police Station in Nadi.

In 2020, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions filed a nolle prosequi in their trial after the exhibits mysteriously disappeared.

Former national squash rep Justin Ho and Frederick Epeli have been ordered to re-appear in the High Court in Lautoka on February 12 to answer to charges of attempted unlawful exportation of illicit drugs on December 23, 2018.

Ho appeared before Magistrate Jioji Boseiwaqa yesterday and had his case transferred to the High Court where he is expected to re-appear with Epeli.

The 32-year-old national sports personality is also one of 13 people facing charges in connection with the recent discovery of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $2 billion.

The duo face criminal charges for their alleged involvement in exporting 2015.7 grams of cocaine to Sydney, Australia.

The State also alleged that Ho and Epeli, a former airline crew member, illegally engaged in dealings for the transfer, transport, supply, use, manufacture and sale of cocaine and illicit drugs.
