Series sponsor assists in telecommunication

THE visiting netball players from New Zealand and Samoa have been provided with free telecommunications by one of the country’s mobile networks, Digicel Fiji.

Yesterday, the company revealed in a statement that it was proud to support the Fiji Netball Association as it hosts the Oceania Tri-Series.

“Digicel is the official telecommunications supplier of the Tri-Series,” the statement states.

“All New Zealand and Samoa team players and officials have been provided a Digicel Freedom SIM to use for the duration of their stay in the country.

“Each player has been given $250 on-net free calls, unlimited Digicel texting and free 750MB data. On top of that they can call New Zealand for 5cents per minute.”

Digicel has also provided free internet to all three team camps including officials and technical officials for the four-day series.

Darren McLean, Digicel Fiji chief executive officer said the company was delighted to partner FNA in supporting netball.

“We’re happy to support netball and looked after the telecommunications needs for the players and officials during the Tri-Series,” he said.

Digicel sponsored the Pacific Tri-Series last May and was a co-sponsor with Punjas for the National Championships last August.

Meanwhile, Netball Fiji last week announced the following sponsorship-in-kind from corporate supporters for the Oceania Netball Series, valued well over $100,000.

* Carpenters Motors – official transport provider for the officials and volunteers

* The Fiji Times – our official media partner, who has provided extensive media coverage for the series

* Coca-Cola – who are suppliers of the official rehydrating drinks, Powerade, which will be used by all three teams

* Communications Fiji Ltd – our official media partner

* Digicel Fiji – communications provider, providing sim and internet access to all teams and officials

* Punjas Fiji – suppliers of tea and other refreshments for officials and volunteers
