People who need to get a new voter card or voter replacement card had been advised to visit the Voter Services Centre (VSC) in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa.
Acting Supervisor of Elections, Ana Mataiciwa said the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) headquarters in Toorak Suva, received numerous enquiries in person from the public.
“The FEO has been receiving numerous enquiries from members of the public on how to get new voter cards done and how to replace lost voter cards,” Ms Mataiciwa said.
“We understand that most of those visiting the FEO headquarters are school leavers and have not registered for a voter card at all.
“I would like to remind them that we are here to assist them in any way possible and we will ensure their requests are addressed accordingly.”
Ms Mataiciwa said voter card services were not available at the FEO headquarters located at 59-63 High St Toorak, Suva and all voter card services, new registration, card renewal and update of card information were available at the FEO’s three VSC’s around the country.
She said for registration and update of card information, people are advised to take with them original or certified copies of their birth certificate and a valid photo identification, while for renewal of voter card, they need to produce their valid photo identification.
For those who just turned 18 years old and do not have any form of valid photo ID, are advised to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is a registered voter.
