The journey to the first-ever Hockey5s World Cup in Muscat, Oman has been a remarkable odyssey for the Fiji men’s team.

Under the leadership of their captain, Hector Smith Jr, the team has demonstrated unwavering dedication in its preparations for this historic tournament.

“It has been quite a journey for us, we have been training hard from day one, and this is a great opportunity for us to show to the world our talent,” said Smith.

“The team has been tirelessly training and fine-tuning their skills to ensure they are fully prepared for the challengers that lie ahead.

“It has been quite a challenging experience but also at the same time, we are very humbled by the fact that we have managed to qualify for the first ever Hockey5s World Cup tournament.”

The team has been bolstered by the support of its stakeholders, including the Fiji Hockey Federation and family members of players and officials.

As they head into the world cup, Hector Smith Jr is confident in their ability to make their mark and showcase the strength and talent of Fiji’s hockey team.

The team’s goal is not only to compete, but to prove that Fiji is a force to be reckoned with, demonstrating their prowess and determination to succeed.

The Hockey5s World Cup in Muscat is scheduled from January 24-31.
