A landowning unit in Sigatoka has acquired its second property in Sigatoka.
Mataqali Etuba entered into an advance agreement with the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) for the approval of $368,000 on behalf of the landowning unit to pay for the second property.
The property sits on an iTaukei land lease that had expired in 2022, and mataqali Etuba is the landowner.
TLTB interim CEO Solomoni Nata urged the members of the landowning unit to view the investment project as a beacon for other mataqalis, and noted the significance of regular payments and competent business progress.
He said the Government’s policy direction that the TLTB supported focused on the development of indigenous people to achieve economic empowerment through business participation and better utilisation of lease proceeds for investment and socio-economic welfare.
