The Magistrates Court has agreed to a request by former Fiji Airways chief customer services officer Shaenaz Voss that a letter be issued confirming the lifting of a travel ban against her.
Ms Voss appeared before Magistrate Viniti Prasad at the Nausori Magistrates Court yesterday on a charge of failure to comply with the requirements of the operator’s airline program, contrary to Section 37 of the Civil Aviation (Security) Regulations 1994.
Defence lawyer Devanesh Sharma made the request so that his client wouldn’t have to be denied travel at the last minute, as has happened in the past.
Magistrate Prasad agreed to the request and instructed Ms Voss to obtain the letter from the Immigration office.
The prosecution had also filed additional disclosures which the defence argued was taking up the valuable time.
Mr Sharma also informed the court that he had evidence that Ms Voss was not the chief executive officer of Fiji Link at the time of the alleged incident, and that they would be presenting one witness as part of their defence.
The case has been adjourned to February 1 next year for the pre-trail conference.
