A 5.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Lau waters at a little before midday today.
The Seismology Unit of the Mineral Resources department said the earthquake occurred at 11.28am.
It was recorded 90km East from Cikobia, Vanuabalavu, 102km Northeast from Tuvuca, Lau, and 399km Northeast from Suva.
The unit stated the moderate earthquake with 625km deep depth did not pose any immediate tsunami threat.
