Twelve years after his producer George “Thunda” Wasile won it with his hip-hop crew BSQ, former sugar industry lab worker-turned rapper Peni “Juben” Roqara scooped the Pacific region’s biggest song competition, Pacific Break 2023 with his hit track Sema Mai.
Juben said the fact that Sema Mai, the track Thunda produced, managed to capture the attention of the judges ahead of more than 360 entries was nothing short of amazing.
