Fiji’s latest boxing sensation Mikaele Ravalaca is confident of a win when he takes on Papua New Guinea’s Thadius Katua in a super featherweight professional bout during the Tuwai Boxing Promotion “The Battle of the Pacific” Program in Nadi on Saturday.

Ravalaca made headlines when he became one of the first Fijians to box at the World Boxing Championship in Uzbekistan earlier this year.

The 20-year-old Fijian boxer says he was ready to take on any opponent who comes his way.

“As much as I respect my opponent, he can be rest assured that he will face a very fit and clinical Mika when we take the ring on Saturday,” Ravalaca said.

He said this fight would set the platform for his career in professional boxing.

“I know I don’t have a very good record in professional as I have just started but after this fight, I want to challenge the champions in Fiji.

“Those who are holding on the belts in the lightweight category. I will be coming for them after this fight.”

The program will be held at Prince Charles Park with Winston Hill taking on Dylan Archer of New Zealand for the PBC Oceania Regional Super Welterweight title in the main bout.
