One of the most consistent 7s teams in the country, Raiwasa Taveuni is aiming to make an impression in the Fiji Bitter 7s series.
Having not participated in the opening tournament of the series at the Namalata, Kadavu 7s last weekend, the boys from the Garden Island of Fiji turned on the heat at the Fiji Bitter Malake 7s, which concluded yesterday at the Narauyaba Sports ground in Rakiraki.
“We are a young team, but the boys are talented,” said the team’s vice-captain Dan Yaya.
He added that the competition was getting tougher with every tournament.
“The boys are now preparing well for each tournament and I believe we have 10 more tournaments to go in this series.
“We will give our best in the remaining tournaments.”
Yaya acknowledged the support from the fans, who have always rallied behind them. “For most of the boy’s in the team, they are doing farming and helping their families back in the village.
“I have encouraged them to come along with me in the rugby journey.” He added they are a new look Raiwasa Taveuni team and would be doing their best at every tournament on the series this year.
