“We will give our best shot”. These were the words of Sabeto team coach Master Nadeem Mohammed.
The side will be competing in the FANCA Muslim International Club Championship (ICC) that will kick-start at the Prince Charles Park in Nadi from today.
“We have been given the opportunity to be part of the competition again and we would try to do our best,” said Mohammed.
He said the boys were ready to take on the challenge and make a good impression in the four-day tournament.
“We would like to give the best results to the people of Sabeto.
“It is a two-year event where the top eight teams of Fiji and the rest from overseas come to one single platform and it indeed brings families, relatives and everybody else together to witness top level football.”
Mohammed said his players came from different districts with one squad member from New Zealand.
“It is a difficult task to assemble them together in such a short time but the boys are gelling well and are focused on the match day.”
The side faces defending champions Sydney Mulomulo in their opening match today at 6.45pm.
“Our focus and our final is the Sydney Mulomulo team. We give them a lot of respect as the defending champions.
“They have won it twice in a row for a reason and we are motivated to be playing against a champion side. “We call locals to come out in good numbers to support the team,” added Mohammed.
