Fiji’s cruiserweight champion Alivereti Kauyaca is the new International Boxing Organization (IBO) Oceania-Orient cruiserweight champion after beating Sebastian “The Sniper” Singh on points after 10 rounds.

The ringside judges scorecard read 97-93, 97-93, 96-94 in a unanimous decision with Kauyaca declared as the winner.

In a post-match interview, Kauyaca said it was a good feeling to have two titles and it would only raise the bar higher for him.

“This is the prestigious IBO title, so now I am looking forward to an international opponent,” said Kauyaca.

He acknowledged Singh for giving a good fight.

“Most of the people told me to go for the knockout early but Sebastian is a good fighter that lasted the full 10 rounds.”

Meanwhile, Ronald Naidu defeated Hunter Ionae on points in the six rounds fight.

“I didn’t prepare well for this fight as I got sick, having less time to prepare but I managed to pull off this win.

“The judges saw the performance in the ring and I thank Hunter for giving a good fight,” said Naidu.

Shamal Ram Anuj beat Ritesh Goundar on points as he retained his bantamweight title in a close fight.
