Burger King, the popular franchise well known for the world’s most iconic burgers, opens its doors to the people of Lautoka today.

The $5 million investment which boasts a unique dynamic service system, has created employment for 50 individuals who will serve Lautoka residents with the flame-grilled favours of Burger King at its Drasa Avenue outlet.

Dubbed the second largest fast food hamburger chain in the world, the local chain of restaurants has gained popularity since it opened its doors in 2015 with the new Lautoka eatery its seventh outlet.

Burger King general manager Akash Narsey said opening a franchise in the Sugar City has always been considered a key part of their development plan.

“As the second city of our nation, we knew that opening here would be a key indicator of our success,” he revealed at yesterday’ soft opening.

“However, as with any BK restaurant, the key was always location, location, location.

“We have had many other opportunities; however, none of these captured our imagination; not until this very location was suggested to us almost exactly two years ago.”

Mr Narsey said the business has had a remarkable journey in the past eight years and they look forward to opening yet another outlet in Suva in the near future.

“From the bustling departures terminal of Nadi International Airport, where it all began, to the capital of our nation, Burger King Fiji has consistently upheld the tradition of serving mouth-watering, flame-grilled burgers that have become a symbol of deliciousness and indulgence.

“Today, we embark on a new chapter of this incredible journey right here in Lautoka.”

Directors of the Motibhai Group, its parent company, officiated at the opening event yesterday.
