One more week before entries close

There are only seven days to go before entries close for the Domo Vou Talei original song contest.

Those who make the shortlist will go into the running to win the $5000 grand prize courtesy of Westpac, the $3000 People’s Choice Award courtesy of The Fiji Times or the $1000 Best Performance Award courtesy of Kaila! The shortlisting team will accept any original song entry – whether it’s recorded on a mobile device, laptop or in a professional studio.

The 10 finalists will have their songs recorded by legendary local producers Phil Dakei and Dave ‘Mr Grin’ Lavaki and have their music videos produced by Communications Fiji Ltd’s Magic Factory.

The finalists will also receive free financial literacy advice from Westpac and learn about their rights as songwriters and artists courtesy of the Fiji Performing Rights Association.

The Australian High Commission will also pay the fees for the finalists to become members of FPRA for one year.

The finalists will be vocally coached and prepared for the stage by the winner of one of South Korea’s biggest nationally televised singing competitions “Immortal Songs”, Sunia Soko Loga.

The 10 finalists will get to perform their songs live at the Uprising Music Festival in Pacific Harbour on October 7.
