QVS to face Marist in final

QUEEN Victoria School will face Marist Brothers High School in the final of the Fiji Secondary Schools Under-19 Cricket Competition Southern Zone at Albert Park in Suva next Wednesday.
The boys from Matavatucou in Tailevu beat Suva Grammar School by six wickets in the second semi-final at Albert Park yesterday.
Marist had booked its place in the final after beating Ratu Kadavulevu School by seven wickets at Bidesi Ground last Thursday.
Grammar batted fi rst and made 57 runs all out in 14 overs, with Cody Ferreras notching 13 runs and Tevita Vocea nine runs. QVS bowler Jijiwa Rokobuli took four wickets, and two each to Jone
Taufa, Michael Rafael and Sefanaia Matai.
In the second innings, QVS sealed the match in the ninth over after registering 60 runs.
Taufa top scored for QVS with 15 runs. Cakacaka Sotia of SGS took three wickets.
QVS coach Wame Rokomatu said they did not expect a tough game from SGS and thanked the school from Veiuto for pushing his players to their limits.
