FIJIAN Drua halfback Philip Baselala said it was a dream come true for him to be part of the Fiji under-20 team that would compete in the World Rugby Championship in Australia later this month.
The 19-year-old, who hails from Solotavui, Nakasaleka, Kadavu said he had learnt a lot while being in the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua set-up.
“I see myself improved a lot as a rugby player after learning from big namessuch as Frank Lomani and Peni Matawalu.
“Here in the squad, we have a few boys from overseas, so there is a lot to learn from them as well,” he said.
Crusaders under-20 prop Mosese McGoon said he was grateful to the Fiji Rugby Union for allowing him to be part of the squad.
“I am just grateful and excited to represent my country and there is good competition within the squad for starting 15 spots as a lot of these guys have got huge potential.”
McGoon said that World Rugby Championship would be a good experience for him.
Hurricanes U20 centre Isaiah Ravula said the championship did not happen every year, and he was happy to be called into the squad.
“It is pretty cool with the boys here, they welcomed me in, and I feel proud to represent my heritage and culture,” he said.
