LAUTOKA football’s Saula Waqa proved to be the difference as his goal against Rewa in extra-time decided the 2023 Fiji FACT title.

The Blues edged the Delta Tigers 2-1 to win their first title since 2002.

Waqa pounced on a cross from fellow striker Sairusi Nalaubu in the second spell of extratime to clinch the title.

After the win, the lanky marksman remembered his sickly grandmother, who had raised him.

“Just want to dedicate this win to my  grandmother. I know she is lying in bed and fighting for her life,” Waqa said.

“I know the struggle she has went through in bringing me up. Whatever I have achieved, it wouldn’t have been possible without her. I want to say I love you Na and thank you very much,” Waqa added.
