Rokovada: Mohan’s tenure a non-issue

A non-issue. This is how Public Service Commission (PSC) chairman Luke Rokovada describes the “co­ntroversial” tenure of former chairman Vishnu Mohan.

Mr Mohan resigned last December. He was PSC ch­airman while living in Canada.

When Mr Rokovada was asked whether there would be an investigation, he maintained that he was focused on doing his job.

“I’ve been fully occupied since being appointed, I have been busy with a lot of things to be done,” Mr Rokovada said.

“A lot of improvements, a lot of reforms is to be done and I don’t think anyone can do those improvements and reforms working from Canada. But for me that’s not an issue. That’s finished, my job now is taking the service forward, lifting the performance of the permanent secretaries and working together in terms of the new changes, new policies and new practices.”

Mr Rokovada was appointed PSC chairman in January 6, following Mr Mohan’s resignation.
