The Ba Bowling Club will host the national Pickett Cup pairs event at the Lautoka Bowling Club over two days.

The tournament scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday will have all affiliated clubs of Bowls Fiji, have for the first time, allowed to enter two teams each.

Ba bowling club secretary Iliyaz Khan has confirmed participation from Suva, Rewa, Tamavua, Labasa, Sheraton, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, and Rakiraki.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games national bowls reps to Birmingham England Rajinesh Prasad and Kushal Pillay of Sheraton are the defending champions.

Stiff competition will come from fellow national reps in the form of bowls from Fiji Presidents Bobby Prasad and VP Munesh Kumar.

Semesa Nasiravatu’s Tamavua, Dev Anand’s Lautoka, Ramesh Chand’s Suva, Rick Eyre’s Labasa, Esaroma Tui’s Rewa, and the father and son combination of Rajiv Lal and Aryan Lal will make their debut for underdogs Rakiraki Khan has thanked sponsor Islands Electric with a $1500cash sponsorship alongside a newly engraved trophy and gold medals for the winners.

The generous sponsorship will also see a host of novelty prizes.

Saturday reporting time – 8.30am, roll on 9am;

Sunday reporting time — 9am, roll on 9.30am.
