Fiji’s super lightweight division boxing champion Ronald Naidu has accepted the challenge from Nathan Singh ‘The Prince of Fiji’ for a rematch.
Naidu knocked out Singh in the 10th round in 2021 to win the title.
The duo were set for a re-match in July last year but Naidu pulled out because he was sick.
Since then, Singh has been undefeated and has fought a number of bouts overseas.
He said it was time for him to challenge Naidu again.
“I thought I was robbed during that fight (in 2021) when he beat me, but that is the past. I am ready to fight him and I am even ready to fight this one for free. As long as he agrees and turns up for the bout,” Singh said.
“I have been training really hard and the two fights overseas have really boosted my career. I do not want to leave any stone unturned in Fiji and I am sure I will knock Ronald out if he accepts my challenge,” Singh added.
When contacted, Naidu says he is ready.
“I can fight him anytime. Last time it was unfortunate as I fell sick and that was not in my control. If any promoter is ready to pay the right price then sure I will fight Nathan again,” Naidu said.
Naidu, 31, has 21 bouts under his belt and has won 11, five by knockout.
He has lost seven fights while three fights have ended in a draw.
In contrast, Singh, 23, has fought seven times, won six, four by knockout, and lost one.
Meanwhile, Bula Boxing promotor Alan Kumar said he was trying to get the bout on his drawcard for his promotion in Suva in June.
