The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua side defeated the Melbourne Rebels 38-28 in a Super Rugby Pacific encounter at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva this afternoon.

It was a good first half performance from the home side which gave them the victory.

Ilaisa Droasese, Selestino Ravutaumada, Vilive Miramira, Iosefo Masi and Kitione Salawa scored a try each for the Drua in the first spell.

Flyhalf Teti Tela converted four of the five tries as they led 33-7 at the break.

The visitors managed only a converted try in the first 40 minutes.

It was a much more balanced second spell where the Rebels settled in well and scored three tries compared to the Drua’s lone try by substitute Elia Canakaivata.

The Drua will next play the Brumbies at 9.35pm on April 14.
