Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif’s action romance Bang Bang has raked in Rs 100 crores in less than five days.
The film has also scored the fifth-highest opening day of a Bollywood film ever, after Dhoom 3, Chennai Express, Ek Tha Tiger and Singham Returns.
Commenting on the film’s box office success, director Siddharth Anand told The Times of India: “I’m delighted. It’s a massive achievement for all of us. It’s amazing that Bang Bang is being loved by people, especially the family audience.
“It is a complete masala movie and we made it with the intention to entertain everyone. I make movies for people to enjoy, to forget about the stress that is a part of the mundane lives we live. It is a full paisa vasool film and the audience is loving it.”
Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, added: “Today Is a very special day for us at Fox Star Studios. When we set out to make Bang Bang, the 100 crore club felt like a distant dream and today it has crossed the Rs 100 crore milestone in India in just over 4 days!
“The audience’s reaction is very gratifying as the film is a repeat watch film and the action, the romance and scale of production is being hugely appreciated!”
