TOP amateur players from Suva and Nadi will spice up the Ba Golf Club (BGC) season closing event at the Fiji Sugar Corporation Rarawai Course next Sunday.
Fiji’s number one Abid Hussain and Suva’s Mohammed Rizwan will be part of the four-player ambrose event.
Two-time Fiji amateur champion Indra Warjan and national squad member Asish Chand will also feature in the nine holes tournament.
BGC captain Rohit Chandra said New Delhi Electrical will sponsor the event.
Chandra said they had a total of 48 registered members. He said the course was in good condition, as they were spending $200 on maintenance each week.
“James Pridgeon of Pacific Harbour donated about 15 club sets for our junior development program earlier this year,” Chandra said.
“So there will be three recipients who will be handed the sets during the season closing awards ceremony.
“These players have been chosen following their performance this year.
“We have looked at their punctuality for the weekly tournaments. We will bind them and monitor their performance next year as well.”
Chandra said each team will be made up of two established golfers and two non golfers.
Golf Fiji president Vidhya Lakhan, Golf Fiji vice president Mark Hinton, FSC Ba general manager Iliyaz Khan and FSC Ba human resources manager Sachin Naidu will be the special guests at the event. The tournament will tee off at 1pm.
