It will be an all Vuda battle during the super premier final of the Lautoka Rugby Union (LRU) round two competition at the Nadovu Park this Saturday.

This is after the two Vuda teams dominated the semi-finals which were played at the same venue last weekend.

Vuda Green defeated Army 29-10 while Vuda Blues downed Fire/Warden 21-14 in a fiery affair.

In the premier semi-finals, Namoli beat Tropik 19-5 and Teidamu edged Natabua 9-7.

LRU secretary Isikeli Soqonalawa said their 2022 season would be completed after the upcoming finals.

Soqonalawa said the club competition was fantastic since round one commenced in March.

He said the LRU selectors were able to scout for talents to be part of the trials for the Maroons squad for the Vodafone Vanua Cup Championship next year.

“The selectors have identified more than 100 players which is really a big number,” Soqonalawa said.

“The names of these players will be announced after the finals. Then the team management will conduct a trial to select the Lautoka Maroons squad for 2023 Vodafone Vanua Cup Championship.” Soqonalawa said the LRU executive would like to thank the 24 affiliated clubs for making the weekly competition successful.

“The club games are the backbone and foundation of a union where players were identified to represent the union or the national team as a whole,” he said.

“Our aim is to get Lautoka Maroons back into the Skipper Cup in 2024 although we fell short this year.”

In the premier final, Teidamu will play Namoli.
