The magic touches of coach Seilala Mapusua and former New Zealand skipper and midfielder Tana Umaga have made wonders to the Samoa side during the past two rounds of the Pacific Nations Cup 2022.

Under their watch, Samoa has won both its games in the PNC — 31-26 against Australia A in round one and defeated Tonga 34-18 at Churchill Park, Lautoka last weekend.

But coach Mapusua has been dealing with some issues, as a few players are sick and injured ahead of their crucial Pacific Nations Cup match with the Flying Fijians.

Mapusua said they were monitoring these players and hoped they recover on time against a wounded Fiji pack in Lautoka on Saturday.

“We are just focusing on putting in a good performance and a big part of that is our preparation each day,” Mapusua said.

“It’s a big game for us you know anytime we get to play the Flying Fijians is a big game for us and we are really looking forward to the challenge.”
